The Ten Commandments revisited

I was watching the news and thinking about how messed up the world society has become today. I thought if there was some sort of moral code out there that could help humanity….. And there is. God Gave it to us through Moses over 2000 years ago and still people do not pay attention. Take a look and see how I reflect upon it….

You shall have No Other Gods before me.

Meaning there is only one true God. He is a jealous God. To worship anyone other than him is a sin. Its wrong… Do not worship false Gods like th Muslims, Hindu’s, and various other Cults. However I am a firm believer that no matter your faith, if you live a good moral life and hurt no one in the process there is still hope for you. Even Atheist….

You shall not make yourself any carved images, or any Likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. You shall not bow down to them or serve them.

Do not worship animals, statues, and other material things not associated with God or Christ. Do not bow down to the Earth facing towards the Cabba in Mecca…. That is worshipping a false Idol and a false prophet.

You shall not take the name of the Lord, Your God in Vain. For the Lord will not hold him guiltless who takes his name in vain.

Do not curse towards on another. Dont say “G** damn it,” or “G** damn you, or this, or that.” Its not good use of words, even out of frustration. Focus on avoiding words like that. if you catch yourself. Say sorry Lord immediately.

Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it Holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the Seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord your God.

Take time off of work at the end of the week, Rest, go to church, do some bible study. In todays society it is understandable that not everyone gets Sundays off. But on your down time, any time, pull out the Bible. Do some reading. Many Bible study guide sites are online. It will help you study by subject or events happening in your life. Make some importance of the Lord in your life. It can bring peace of mind.

Honor your Father and your Mother, that your days may be long upon the land which the Lord your God has given you.

Your Parents, either one or both in most cases, has raised you since birth. They have fed you, clothed you, disciplined you, and rewarded you when you deserved it. They shaped you into the person you will or have grown to become. Have some respect for them and show them much appreciation and care as they get older. If you have a Grudge over an issue let it go.

You Shall NOT Murder

Do not kill one another. Do not plan to kill one another. This world is full of evil. Of course you can defend yourself, defend your friends and family, defend your home, and defend your country while serving in the Military. PLEASE do not commit murderous offenses intentionally with the intent to bring an undeserving death. Let God decide when it is time for someone to expire….

You shall not commit Adultery.

Stay loyal to your wives and husbands. Dont seek comforts and pleasures with others whom are married to others or to those to whom you are not married to… If your relationship is not fulfilling then talk to one another and see what you can do to bring the spark back into your marriage. I do not like the idea of divorce, but if there is no solution do not waste eachothers life. Let each other find the Happiness they are looking for and deserve. However, when still married, stay committed to one another. Do not abuse each other emotionally, physically, or verbally.

You Shall Not Steal.

Simple, if it is not yours do not take it. If you want it, ask for it, buy it, barter, or ask to borrow. The person who had it may really need it more than you do. Think about the consequences from both sides…. Someone could suffer from your actions….

You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.

Do not gossip or lie about one another, do not falsely accuse without knowing the facts. If you did not see it with your own eyes, if you did not hear it with your own ears, if it did not have a direct impact on your life… Then leave it alone. Do not spread false news that you do not know to be true. Never depend on the words of others as they may be bias. Be a true witness, seek the truth, and understand what really happened.

You shall not covet your neighbors house; you shall not covet your neighbors wife.

Do not be jealous or envious of what others have and you do not. It was not Gods plan for you. If he has what you think is better just leave it alone. Be thankful for what you have. Remember, the grass is not always greener on the other side. Think of what he might have had to sacrifice for his gains. His life may not be as happy as yours.
